Thinking of a week's trip to Malta and Gozo end October or early November. Sport climbing up to 6a. Any advice on areas or good central location for accomodation welcome. Will hire a car.
Thanks

Might want to check out the Malta Climbing Club on facebook and ask there, they'd be more than happy to give you any info (and probably climbing partners as well) you need.

I'm out there for a week in september with work, going to try for a half day off to climb so any advice welcome here too.

If you've only got half a day and you're on Malta rather than Gozo, Wied Babu (next to the blue grotto) is the place to go imo.

Hi there, the main places to climb would be Wied Babu, Ghar Lapsi and perhaps Mistra. It doesnt really matter where you stay as the island is very small but I do recommend you hire a car as the bus service is terrible and will waste you a lot of time. Its definitely worth visiting Gozo too - go to Mgarr Ix-Xini valley and perhaps one of the seacliff areas. Some nice Multipitches have recently been bolted at San Dimitri for example. We just published a new sport climbing guidebook which is available from www.maltaclimbing.com
Have a great holiday!
