Classic - does this mean it's ok for me to take Little Ent up the Midi just for a look around?

In reply to Enty:

why not - its a ride in a cable car, to a restaurant after all - if Little One feels ill jump on next cable car down

planning the walk down into the glacier would be fine as well, just keep them short roped, down and back up would be fine

Disappointing that in all that careful, dispassionate journalism they got the altitude wrong. The couloir is more like 3400m than 3700m.

Don't worry. There is strong resistance to that idea - http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=594797&v=1#x7847815

Be careful. Those Louisianan swaps are dangerous and full of crocodiles. There're not called the SWAMPS OF DEATH for nothing.

Peter's alright... he's in Florida.
 MG 13 Aug 2014
In reply to jon:

No, definitely the most dangerous swamps in Louisiana around Tampa. I hear being eaten by a crocodile is like being hit by a mass of snow too.

Listen carefully and get a geography lesson . Somehow Mont Blanc has moved to Switzerland and is now "the highest deadliest peak in the SWISS Alps" LOL!!!

There are no crocodiles round there either!

There may be sharks in the Mer de Glace
After all, there's the Shark's hut (refuge du Requin) and the Shark's Tooth (Dent du Requin)....
 MG 13 Aug 2014
In reply to Ken_Chamonix:
I didn't know that but next time I need to talk about sharks in French I'll have no problems! While we discussing French, how is Vallot, as in the hut, pronounced? Are the els sounded, or is it like aiguille? I assume the t is silent?

What about the risk of snow-sharks? Or Crocktopusses?

Devils as well - Aiguille du DIABLE and evil - Mont Maudit.

No limit to the objective dangers, and that's not even worrying about punch-ups with French guides.

In reply to MG:

The t is silent and the l's are pronounced as in "valley".
OP jon 13 Aug 2014
In reply to MG:

No, Streeb-Greebling. You're thinking of Greeb-Streebling. The "T" is silent, as in "fox". Good evening.
