I might be about to come into possession of a Flying Scot bike in need of a lot of love and attention. What it will definitely need is stripped back and resprayed. Obviously a professional job will be required; anybody got any recommendations of workshops for the work.

Thanks.

If you want a contemporary spray job then locally I'd consider...

If you want to do a restoration job with lug lining and the like then maybe look at the more traditional guys down south like Bob Jackson or Ellis Briggs ...

I note the decals can be sourced via ebay.

Not wishing to be overly negative but if you go with these guys ask them to 'measure twice and cut once' as my friend recently had some canti bosses welded onto a 29er disc only frame (don't ask) and they did them in the 26" position!

They put it right, so I'm sure they're very good as their reputation would suggest.

If you're local to Sheffield I can recommend John Burke, he works with Field Cycles but also re-sprays old bikes. Can do just about any colour/pattern at reasonable costs and an all round top guy to deal with. Email on website below

If you just want a single colour powdercoat (and are London based) then Armourtex in Hackney are good. They've done several frames for me all turned out beautifully - and the finish is pretty bombproof unlike paint resprays.

If you want a particular design or something like lugwork, then they're not the right sort of place - you want someone like Argos or Bob Jackson as some of the others have recommended. But they will be a fair bit pricier.
