Against my better judgment I'm thinking of upgrading to a Garmi n Edge 1000. One reason is the new senors. Thing is, only being held on with elastic bands I'm wondering if they'll get nicked after 5 minutes.

I've got a 1000 and don't bother with them. I get cadence from my power meter, and I've never had it drop a signal anywhere so the speed sensor seems a bit redundant as i don't ride indoors.
