I'm preparing a narrative for slide show about trekking in the Himalaya and am trying to describe the way the Annapurna circuit passes through various climatic zones; ranging from the lushly vegetated sub tropical to the barren high mountain passes.

To anyone who's been there; does this sound right?(Sensible answers or suggestions only PLEASE)

"To complete a circuit of the Annapurna mountains is to experience a microcosm of the world's climatic spectrum within the space of about one hundred miles"

Thanks.

I wouldn't say climatic spectrum. Perhaps...

..to experience the spectrum from lushly vegetated sub tropics to barren alpine high mountain passes within the space of about one hundred miles.

(Although would have thought far less than 100 miles.)
