Hi,
I'm wondering if the Midgies have calmed down a wee bit yet or are still going full force in the Peak?

Cheers,
Steve

It's windy at the minute so not a problem. As soon as it stops they'll be back out. It's been mind all year really as it's there's always been somewhere catching a breeze.

ta - I guess it hasn't frosted there yet (unlike some of the Scottish glens)

I heard a rumour of a light frost very early one morning on a particularly keen climber's car in Sheffield

Sorry, bit of a thread Hijack here but I'm planning a trip to the Peak District next month (from Somerset) and was wondering if the roadworks and 50 mph speed restrictions are still going on on the M5,M6,M1 etc.

Hi Steve,

Just depends on wind and how much there is. You can always play with angles too ie last weekend was horrific bouldering on Stanage Apparent North, but switching to Burbage Bridge made all the difference for a 10 min walk!

Yeah the wind is forecast moderately strong this weekend from the W so that should be ok on a lot of the grit crags I guess.
