You know that track to the CIC hut next to Ben Nevis?

How far up can you cycle?

Anyone done it?

When I say cycle, I mean as a quicker alternative to walking, with pack and tent etc. as opposed to technical mountain biking requiring Danny Mcka-skills.

The track is in Vol 2 of Vertebrate's Wild Trails MTB guide with a possible return via the track leading to the halfway lochan. It's more aimed at MTBers though. I'd say you'd be better off walking unless you are decent at bunny hopping water bars. You aren't likely to save much time on the way in though you should (depending on your skill negotiating water bars) on the way back.

Its easily done on my trail bike, and by repeatedly descending about 1.5 metres to one side of my ascent track, I am hopefully preparing it for a future 4x4 attempt.
