I am trying to find out how much it costs to rent a small 1 bed apartment in Chamonix for the winter season. Anyone know the cost per month? and where I could find such lettings on the internet. I would like to go from Dec 1 until June 1.

best bet for cheap and cheerful is chamonix sud.
you may find that its worth committing to a year to drop the price and increase the choice.

I can only find short term rentals when I search and nothing for a 6 month winter season.

In reply to Aigen:

If you post on http://www.chamsocial.com you'll be able to get in touch with owners directly. €600 a month is very optimistic. €800 - 1200 a month much more realistic for a winter. Be prepared to pay it all up front as well.

Would agree with this. €600 a month for an annual let is do-able, but you'd be very lucky to get a one bedroom apartment in Cham for €600 a month for the winter season
In reply to Aigen:
We paid €1000/ Month for a big 1 bedroom place 2 winters ago (seasonal rent, not annual - the landlady said it would have been €700/m for the year)

Now we stay in a 1 bedroom place for €570 for annual rent.

€600 living alone will be difficult - but I know plenty of people who pay €500 for a shared place.

Every Thursday this list gets updated, but you'll need to contact owners directly, more often than not in French. http://www.chamonix.fr/PDF/LOUER.pdf

You'll often need 3 months deposit, or, sometimes, the full winter needs paid in one go.
