Manufacturing climbing gear

Did anyone see a program on tv two days ago, can't remember channel, which showed the manufacturing of krabs, cams other pro. items?
Although they used high pressure presses and high temperature ovens, a lot of the process involved hand finishing. Perhaps that explains the high prices.

When i started with climbing, I though climbing gear was cheap. A biner costing 8 pound seamed rather cheap to hang my life on. Ofcorse that was before i ended up with a huge pile of climbing gear at home...

Same here, I think climbing gear is pretty cheap for what it does.
