Dry Tooling? A high adrenaline sport that uses ice axes and crampons to ascend climbs that are not covered by snow or ice.

Learn the basics with DMM pro team climber Nick Bullock. Test your skills on our British Tooling Series qualifier routes. Try out the latest DMM axes. Watch some CRAZY dry tooling action during the British Tooling Series: or even better, compete yourself! Check out our evening lecture with ice climbing superstars Tim Emmett and Will Gadd... then chill out in the bar!

Learn the basic techniques needed to succeed in this high adrenaline sport on our artificial ice climbing and dry tooling routes with expert advice from the king of cool Nick Bullock. You'll also be able to check out and try DMM's latest tools.

British Tooling Series Round 1: Climbing walls + Axes = crazy competitions!
Test your skills on the qualifier routes: or even better compete yourself! Watch the sport's top climbers compete in Round 1 of the 2014 British Tooling Series: Spread the length and breadth of Great Britain, from the highlands of Scotland, down to the hustle and bustle of London, the series features 5 competitions to get climbers warmed up for the 1st British Tooling Open.

Helmcken Falls Evening Lecture: with Tim Emmett & Will Gadd from 7:30pm.
In 2010 Tim Emmett and Will Gadd received a Golden Piton award for climbing the spray ice wall on the 463-foot Helmcken Falls in British Colombia, Canada. They called the resulting pitch Spray On and rated it WI10 - three grades harder than any other pure ice climb.

Equipment notes.
Plas y Brenin are kindly supplying boots and crampons for use on the artificial ice climbing wall. DMM are supplying axes for use on all tooling routes. You are welcome to bring your own equipment, although rock boots are mandatory for the dry tooling routes to avoid damaging the climbing wall.

Food served all day in our cafe with special Indian dishes by in-house chef Raji.
After hours bar open until late.
