Come and celebrate Lancashire bouldering at Blackstone Edge, followed by drinks in the White House.

The newly published Lancashire Bouldering Guidebook will be available if you'd like to buy one, and the author will be on hand to give first-timers the tour of the crag, with 300 hundred problems from super easy to pretty flippin' hard, from lowballs to scaryballs and big moves to small moves.

If you'd like a fun day out with other gritstone addicts, come along!

If you've never bouldered before, but want to give it ago, now's your chance...

Hope to see you all there!

Meet in the car park below the White House pub at 10am. Post code for sat nav - OL15 0LG

If you can't make it for 10, meet us at the crag.
Directions (25min walk): Cross the road and follow the footpath uphill. turn right at the top of the small hill. Follow this track by a drainage channel until you reach a gate. The crag is now in sight. Turn left uphill in front of the gate, then turn right at the top of the hill through another gate. Continue along the track until you hear or see boulderers down to the right...

For more details on the guidebook, see www.lancashirebouldering.com.

The weather is looking bad for Saturday. Sunday looks drier. Would people prefer to do it on Sunday, or leave it till a different weekend?

I'll still meet up with anyone who wants to chance it/have a wet walk and then a drink.

Based on Facebook replies, Saturday is cancelled but we'll have a mini meet on Sunday for anyone who is keen.

I'll organise another big get together when the weather is better.

Thanks to everyone who came along on Sunday! It was a great day, and lots of classics got climbed. Even a couple of new/undocumented sitters on the Trig Slab boulder (I've listed these on the new problems page - the idea is that people can check this before they head to a venue to see if there is anything new to have a go at http://www.lancashirebouldering.com/projects/ )

It was definitely a day for slabs and aretes. Lots climbed around Trig Slab, the Hueco Block and Short Routes area. Will post some photos on facebook later. https://www.facebook.com/lancashirebouldering.guidebook

As this was more of a mini-meet, I'm keen to organise another big gathering next time we have good weather. I know a lot of people wanted to come but couldn't make it when the dates got changed due to a rainy saturday. See you all next time!
