Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or knowledge of cottages in the Lakes or somewhere north of Glasgow which are happy to take 2 dogs of small/medium size (Springer and a Weimaraner). Have been able to find places which are happy for one small dog and that is it.

No real preference in area, somewhere with a lack of phone signal and wifi and a stereotypical fire and cosy setting is all I am really after.

Thanks in advance
Iain

Try Wallowbarrow Farm in the Duddon Valley (Western Lakes). They have a cottage plus a bunkhouse-this is a quote from their website.

"The self-catering cottage is centrally heated and is cosy all year round. Bed linen and electricity are included (please bring towels). For 'wee uns' we have a 3-wheeler jogger and a macpac carrier which visitors are welcome to borrow. Well behaved dogs are welcome and must always be under control as they are likely to encounter sheep, cows, horses, chickens, rabbits, working dogs and young children on a daily basis!"

on a general point, as someone with 2 not-so-small dogs, I've found phoning up and talking to the owner (trickier if its an agency) easier - explaining that I have a pair of retrievers is usually straightforward.

expensive, but the Landmark Trust are usually happy with 2 dogs and very characterful/ atmospheric houses.

I stayed in this lovely cottage with my husband and GSD last November:

It's in a beautiful area and although remote, it's in a village with a shop. You can walk straight down from the garden to the beach. The wood burning fire was great and there were superb mountain/sea views from close by the cottage:
