Just wondering if anyone has used any cheapo "FDX" branded cycling gear?
http://fdxsports.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_68&p...

There's loads of it on E-bay (cheaper than their website) and I'm wondering with them being so cheap if they are worth a punt, especially as they offer a no quibble 30 day refund so it could be a £3 gamble if they turn up and are obviously crap.

Otherwise, anyone got any recommendations for cheap winter tights?

Thanks,

Gethin.

These seem OK, I got a pair in 2013, still work fine (not bibs so I need to wear DJ braces with them!).

I have no experience of the ones you list, but I would be interested to hear what other people have used as I'm looking for something warmer to use when it gets actually cold here in the south-west.

I have so far been commuting this autumn/winter with a pair of cheap GoOutdoors base-layer tights over my bib shorts. They are very thin and stretchy and, despite not being anything like their intended use, they have been perfect for the temperatures of about 5C which we've had in the SW.

These ones, I went up a size for a good fit:

Just got back from the christmas hols to find my tights on the doormat.
From first impressions they seem pretty good, the material seems good, the fit is tidy and comfortable (true to size and comparable to other brands, i've a 32" waist and a medium fits). The finishing around the ankle zips isn't that tidy but it's easily on a par with Aldi stuff.
Overall I'd say they are worth the money and have a much better fit than the Aldi stuff i've bought in the past.
The only slight downside is that they have a bit of a smell of smoke about them, possibly they are made or the material stored in a smokey environment. Hopefully this will clear with a wash.

And as a bonus the label claims that they were "child labour free" which is good if true.

Now all I need is for the weather to clear up just a little bit to encourage me to get out on the bike.

If they were a medium I'd snap them up. Thanks for the offer.

Have you tried the planet x bibs??? I got a pair last year for 20 odd quid and they are brilliant. Keep the chill out, fit well and hard wearing.

I did look as I like my clubman shorts but at the time the winter gear was the only thing not on offer and they wanted £60 for them.

I'll see how these cheapo FDX things work out.
