hmm... I've always thought wearing both to be a bit overkill, and could prove inconvenient if flies don't correspond.

Personally, with; I feel more 'secure' that way. Chafing in that area isn't pleasant, and having everything organised neatly down there stops that for me...

Joking apart I wear both.

if I'm away for a few days I will pack light and have one pair of Long Johns and several pairs of briefs.
that way I do (where available) get showers can change my underwear.

I wear mine with women's knickers. But then I am a wimmin.

I reckon its best with, then you can change undies more often than long Johns, and undies are light and take up less room than a spare set of thermals.

Of course some of the blokes on here probably never change their drawers.

Remember to be very careful to count the exact number of layers required to whip down if caught short for a dump/wazz.

In one blizzard I counted to 2 before realising, only just made it with no. 3 before the no.2 as it were. Phew.

Aye, but anything I wear next to my ring goes in the laundry bag at the end of each day!
I just think it's more practical when you are using them most days.

With pants, but I cut out the crotch in the long johns so I can free Mr Kipper with gloves on. What with that and the brynje top I have gained a bit of reputation...

Wore LJ's for the first time over briefs for 4 very chilly days' walking in The Lakes.
Brilliant! how did I manage for so long without?

(just for the record, briefs were merino, LJ's were polyester)
