I am planning a trip to NZ and will need a good size rucksack, probably <60L Will need to be suitable to carry sport climbing equipment (80m rope, quick draws etc) climbing equipment (tent, Matt, small stove etc) aswell as the obvious usual stuff (clothing etc). Obviously I know I won't get it all in so needs to be able to conveniently strap stuff to. Has anyone got any good suggestions? This is my first big trip like this, am used to having a vehicle near by so any sort of advice would be helpful!

Don't ever buy a rucksac without trying it on, tightening the straps properly and putting some heavy stuff in it. Try as many as possible.
