We've rented a few places in the area over the years, but usually for longer periods. The bungalows at spirit mountain at good if you want a very quiet, peaceful option. Basic, but cheap and right under the crag. From there you'd need a scooter to access other climbing. Boats to railay or tonsai easy enough and also easy to ride to Ao Thalane to get the boat across to Koh Yao.
Why not spend a week or so in tonsai, a week or ao at spirit mtn/krabi, a week on koh Lao Liang and a week on Koh yao? That'd give you good access to most of the climbing in the south and also some great glimpses of Thai culture and way of life (sadly quite lacking in railay/tonsai nowadays).
