Can anybody suggest a suitable place to camp in the Lakes? I am looking for a camping friendly farm or a basic campsite open at this time of year. I will be turning up late on the friday so want to just pitch and sort things with the farmer the following day.

It's down as £18 per night on their website, but they charged us £10 each for small tents I think.

Easy to get to from the motorway and weren't fussed about us pitching up late.

Near keswick try lane foot, thornthwaite or castlerigg farm.both would suit I suspect.

Just most sites I saw are closed. So thought of a farmer...
