1) Over Wansfell to Troutbeck returning via Robin lane.
2) Around Loughrigg to Elterwater via Lily & Loughrigg tarns, back to Ambleside via Loughrigg terrace.
3) High Sweden bridge, up Scandale and onto Red Screes, return to Ambleside via the broad ridge.

you can pick up a book in the tourist info places called15 walks from Ambleside and Grassmere. Only cost £2.50 and all of the walks are lovely.

Why not take advantage of buses......loughrigg to silver howe to chapel stile (brittania pub) then bus back.....or extend to stickle tarn.
