Morven to Kinbrace (Caithness/Sutherland)

Some of you may have seen my other posts about trying to re-plan a 30 yr old long journey.
Are there any armchair route planners or people with more local/up to date knowledge prepared to share any information on route choices between Morven and Kinbrace?
We are talking walking and trying to avoid silly distances such as head back north and go around by road (also trying to avoid roads as much as is sensible).
Any wind farm/forestry developments in the area?
