Hi, I'm looking for route recommendations and opinon. I'll be heading to the lake district in the middle of March and will be based in Buttermere. Where do climb, what routes should be on my to-do list. I'm looking for routes in the VS-E2 range.

That time of year you'll be trying to find stuff in condition rather than getting on big classic routes. There'll be stuff in Borrowdale to do - Shepherd's is the go-to valley crag, very convenient, has some good routes. Kern Knotts might be OK, it's a south-facing crag in a mountain setting, has some good routes at VS (super-classic single pitch cracks), HVS and E2/3.

As Jon says, you may be looking to be in the sun so Yew crags and Buckstone How have some good routes in the grade range you mention and are very close to Buttermere. Grey crag is south east facing with very good easier routes and not over much drainage I think (only been up in summer).
