Eskdale granite could suit, the holds feel a bit like grit due to their roundness!
For bouldering in that area check out Fisherground which is very close to the campsites in the valley. For bouldering in a truly outstanding setting try Sampsons stones in Upper Eskdale, the walk-in is well rewarded.
For climbing there's the roadside venues of: Bell Stand, Hare crag, Brantrake (all granite).
And for longer adventures there's Esk buttress.
Duddon valley could also fit the bill. Plenty bouldering (although not well documented), climbing on single and multi-pitch crags around Seathwaite tarn, following the sun during the day. Wallowbarrow crag is well worth a visit too. And for those wanting longer routes it's feasible to walk from the Turner Hall campsite to Dow crag.
Both these valleys have excellent pubs too.
