Can anyone suggest some good sport climbing near Coniston, probably at the easier grades? Am heading there tomorrow - thanks

In reply to Gompertz:

There are some sports routes at Hodge Close (3km north on the A593) although i have no idea of grades sorry

In reply to WildCamper:
the "easy" bolted routes at Hodge in the all weather gym are missing the odd hanger, hodge would be great if your up for climbing HVS/E1

Behind the Lines (HVS 5a)
Sasquatch (HVS 5a)

the best properly bolted route in Hodge which is easy would be the retro bolted
Mad Alice (E3 5c) Maybe 6a/+

Others have bolts on but provide more of a trad experience... Sky (6b+) Limited Edition (E4 6a)

Tilberthwaite Quarry may have some more amenable trad routes and easier retro bolted routes (maybe two)

The only real sport climbing venues are Scout Scar & Chapel Head Scar the lower grades at these crags may be under graded.....& both have bird restrictions which kick in at the end of the month.

Thanks everyone. In the end we went bouldering in Boulder Valley by the Coppermines YHA, which worked out well. We'll do the sport routes next time
