Has anyone been on the Cromdale hills recently?

Has anyone been up on the Cromdales near Grantown-on-Spey recently?
I'm trying to find out if there is still a good population of mountain hares up there, or if they've undergone one of the recent culls.
I'm just trying to find out if it is worth my while going back there for mountain hare photography, I haven't been there since 2013 so I don't know the current situation.

Don't know if this helps given that it was a year ago, but we went for a long bimble up there in early March last year and there were loads of mountain hares. But we were 'stalked' most of the day by gamekeepers, and found evidence of rather dubious snaring practices.
