Hello all,

I have been out of climbing for approx 2 years, and am now back to it.
I am hoping for some advice regarding insurance providers. I've had a search on here and previous posts don't seem to cover my question.

The main thing I need cover for is 3 weeks of rock climbing in Canada, including the Bugaboos.
I will also be going on various other non climbing trips - USA (5 days), Turkey, continental Europe.
Finally, I will be kitesurfing and climbing in the UK.

I seem to remember reading a fairly negative article about BMC cover.

What would most people recommend, especially regarding providers? And would policies cover the UK too usually? I would see options as:

A global, annual policy which covers climbing
An annual standard travel policy + an additional specialist 3 week policy for climbing in Canada
Multiple individual policies for each trip

Thanks in advance
Owen

Thanks.... I did read that before. however the thread is quite inconclusive. It just seems to say that AAC membership isn't good enough.

Any other recommendations?

Cheers

Yep, AAC isn't enough on its own.
I think I'd still go BMC, assuming you're UK based and can get it UK to UK for full trip: BMC have, AFAIK, dropped it's current underwriter and will be, I imagine, very keen to avoid any further bad press from uncovered reasonable claims.
For a similar trip, I went with NZAC, the NZ equivalent to BMC. I wasn't to impressed with people's experiences of World Nomads, the other option I looked at: some internet insurance review sites suggested they were pretty confrontational in the event of a claim.
