It has been a while since I went to the Alps, but am quite looking forward to a trip there in July to climb Aiguilles and eat baguettes.

Can anyone recommend any campsites / hostels or other facilities in the Chamonix valley where you can reliably leave valuables behind while you climb for a few days?

You definitely can at the île des Barrats site but I would imagine they would all be the same. Think it was about 2 euros per bag per night when we used it last year and they store it in their garage on site.

If you stay at the ski station Veronique will let you leave stuff in the loft for free when you go into the mountains.
