Metolius eco ball - chalk alternative

Does anyone have some real world long term experience of this alternative to chalk? I have read on an American review website that with prolonged use it actually makes fingers sweaty "It's a pain to get off of holds" + "makes them slippery quick"

I tried it and thought it was pretty much useless and certainly not a viable replacement for chalk.

Hate them, a wall at school near me makes you use them. I'd rather climb without and rub my hands on my top/jeans.
