Hi,

If you mean the one in Greece (that's the only true Mt Olympus, )you should not need any ice gear for the summer.
Have not been there recently but that's always the case for summer ascents.

Hope that helps

I was aware that snow often lingers into June, but have contacted the hut, and they have confirmed it is clear now.

We go next week.

('Only true one'? Where is the other one then?)

Edit: according to Wiki there are also Mount Olympuses:

In Greece, on Lesbos, Euboea and Skyros, plus one in East Attica;
The highest point of Cyprus;
In Turkey there is a Mysian Olympus, a Paphlagonian Olympus and a Lycian Olympus;
One in New Zealand;
One in Canada;
And two in California, and one each in Colorado, Kentucky, Hawaii, Vermont, Utah and Washington.

I know, and have even stood on top of three of these (Washington, one of Californian ones, and Cyprus). I just found the other answer even more useless....

I'm thinking the Cyprus one is the most difficult to summit on for most people, if the easiest for a few.

The California one I am thinking of is even easier, and open to all....

The one in Washington is simply amazing.

And a few more:
Uludag near Bursa, Turkey was also mount Olympia in ancient times
Tahtali Dag in Antalya is also Mount Olympos

I have just read there are at least 20 mountains in the region all known as Mount Olympia at some time and all claiming to be the home of Zeus and his buddies

He's Roman isn't he? Not Greek.

There are 12 greek gods on Mt Olympus:

The place where the mountain is found is not called Ares.

All very confusing....

It is a very beautiful mountain with many routes to climb from. During winter can be tricky but in the summer is amazing.

Have a great time and drink lots of tsipouro in the refuge.

The one on Mars has a few logistical issues, although is reputedly easy angled.
