Hello,

My current tent which I've had for years I really like but the poles are crap. I've replaced around 50% of the pole sections and they just keep breaking, I'm not sure what they're made of but the look exactly like these http://www.amazon.co.uk/OUTWELL-DURAWRAP-CAMPING-EQUIPMENT-REPAIR/dp/B007IU...

My question is can I get replacement poles for my tent that are better and won't snap? I was thinking of metal poles but there's quite an arch on the poles that I use and I don't think metal would bend like that.

Is there any better quality poles I could replace my current one with? If so where do I go & what materials do I look for?

Metal poles bend a surprising amount I think the tricky thing would be getting the right length. Maybe you could measure your current poles?

Interesting, I never thought they'd bend all that much. I can measure the current ones then hunt around.

Thanks for the tip, I'll spend a bit more time looking into metal ones.

Try Hampton Works for a wide range of poles.

I looked into doing this with my tent but it ended up being more than twice the price of buying a new decent tent.

+1 on what Andy said above.
You may also just find that the tent design is over stressing the poles and that replacing the poles doesn't really help.

When the poles on my ancient Quasar died I replaced them with ones like these

They probably aren't up to the spec of the original ones but they've stood up to some pretty terrific gales (once half the campsite emptied out during the night as tent after tent collapsed whilst my Quasar hardly moved).
You can get similar ones elsewhere like here
http://www.millets.co.uk/equipment/107906-vango-alloy-corded-8-5mm-tent-pol...
but Go Outdoors, Decathlon, Amazon etc or a bit of googling "aluminium tent poles" should find you some.
This place will do you original Easton 7075 poles if its a high spec tent but they may be a bit pricey if its not an expensive tent you've got.
