Hi, I'm heading to the alps tomorrow with the aim of doing some easy mountains (Allalinhorn, Weissmies, Monte Rosa, Vallee Blanche).

The weather looks stupidly warm...is anyone out there who can give me update on snow conditions??

My alternative is head to the Dolomites and do via ferrata....would prefer to do mountains though.

Thanks!

Bump (for the OP). Come on guys, somebody with communication skills must be out there! Has the heatwave damaged the stuff around the Aiguille du Midi plateau much? Forecast looks a bit cooler from wednesday so hopefully stuff will firm up at night again....

Sandy blogs quite a bit and its fair to say he knows his stuff.

Any update on the current conditions out there? Would be interested to hear what people are getting done given how hot it's been...

Cheers

In the past week we've done:
Chere Couloir
Midi-Plan
Cosmiques Arete
Pointe Lachenal
Tournette Spur
Trois Monts (in descent)

Though it has started to blow a fair amount of wind about

Probably the best link for current conditions in the Mont Blanc Area is:

http://www.chamoniarde.com/?page_id=343

There is an idea to post this on the new Alpine Club site in English.

Any interest?

How was the Tournette Spur? It's a route I've been contemplating for a while.

I'll put a thread up about the tournette later mate. Information is scarce on it.
