Can anyone recommend a good kit bag for climbing trips that can also be wheeled?

I need to cross London on the train for my next climbing trip and don't fancy trying to carry a 20kg kit bag on the underground.

So looking for something lightweight (so it doesn't reduce my weight allowance too much) big enough to carry all my climbing kit, and preferably not too expensive.

I see that lifeventure and karrimor make wheeled kit bags? Has anyone tried them? Or am I better off just getting a cheap suitcase?

Good question, as I'd be interested to hear what others have to say about this. I've had something similar to the following bag which I've been lugging around campsites, airports and such like for the past 15 years:

I don't get out much so consequently its just about still usable. The one criticism I would have, is without an extending arm to pull it along by, it puts considerable strain on your own arm. I can get everything in it for a usual weekend and means only one trip from car to tent.

I would personally go for a well fitted rucksac. Wheeling a 20kg suitcase around the underground isn't fun either.

If you do go for wheel, this may help

I always go with a wheely duffle for checked baggage and my 30l climbing pack as hand luggage. Having a big rucksack and a smaller one is a nightmare. Putting the small one on your front looks stupid and you trip over things.

My wheely is a Blacks 50l buts it holds more like 65l I bought it in a rush and its lasted pretty well but it's starting to show signs of failure after about 20 long haul trips. 6-7 years worth. Patagonia do a nice looking one with proper replaceable wheels that have skateboard bearings. I'd consider that if you have a bit to spend. Importantly you need a nice long extending handle to make towing and not catching your heels comfortable.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I am not keen on Rucksacks because I will already have one as my hand luggage.

The Patagonia wheely bag is a bit too expensive, but will look into the other suggestions as they all sound good.

Look at Cotswolds - they do a Mountain Equipment wheeled duffle. Sounds like what you're after?
