I'm trying to find out the place to go in Zermatt for up to date mountain conditions - is this the one? On the website it seems a more commercial outfit.

I'm planning to go up the Breithorn on Sunday, and I'm looking for the latest conditions regarding crevasses, snow bridges, etc.

As an aside, what time do people recommend to start queueing at the lift to get the first lift up to Klein Matterhorn?

Zermatt Alpin Center is the guides bureau. Sometimes helpful, sometimes not. Depends who you see. For the Breithorn, I wouldn't worry too much. There will be a track and there will be a few crevasses and there will be other people... lots of them.
