I am replacing the trigger wires on some Wind Country Flexible friends.

(I have chosen not to use strimmer wire thanks!)

I have cable, and ferrules/swages but now need to source some alloy wire to go into the heads.

Does anyone know the correct thickness? (1.4mm?) Or can anyone give me a link to the stuff they used.

In reply to Dan Arkle:

Hey Dan. Ormiston wire. I'd have thought 1.4 would be fine. The pins are effectively nails - if you can find stainless nails, copper ferrules and a stainless wire you'll be in. The higher the wire count the more flexible it is - for example 7x19 is more flexible than 7x7.

I'd daftly assumed it was aluminium wire!

cheers Mike, good info.

I always re-use the old cam to cable connecting wires, they have little grooves pressed into them that are hard to reproduce at home.

In reply to scott titt:

That is true, but I doubt it's not anything you couldn't achieve by nipping them gently with a pair of wire cutters...

Dan the wire they use is actually galvanised wire rope, it wouldn't make much difference either way...
