Trevor Quarry - DM Walls Routes

We are putting the final touches to the new Clwyd Limestone Rockfax. There are a couple of routes in Trevor Quarry which appear to have odd grade votes on UKC compared to the grades that have been proposed.

Raptor Rap (5a)

Merlin Magic (5b)

These are both showing a reasonable number of votes content with the 4a grades show in UKC Logbook, but these route were given 5+ and 5 respectively originally.

Mark did the routes and didn't remember thinking there was anything wrong with the grades of 5+ and 5 so we are puzzled by these votes for the lower grades.

Has anyone, who has climbed these recently, got any thoughts ?

Hello Alan, it's a little while since I did the routes on this wall but I do recall thinking that they were all much of a muchness - ie they were very similar in style and difficulty. Each had the odd moment to think about but were all in the range of 4+ to 5+ . In this case I think the 5/5+ grades are perfectly fine.
