Thinking of a trip to either usa or canada next august. Looking for a venue suitable for vs leaders with a preference for multi-pitch routes, scrambing and alpine routes. Total inability to jam. Can you recommend any bases, routes, accommodation or guidebooks. Thanks

City of Rocks is awesome, lots at those grades but not much multi-pitch. Not too hot in August if you lay off the climbing for a few hours on the afternoon. Also Lovers Leap or South Dakota Needles.

Tuolumne and the surrounding High Sierra should fit the bill perfectly. Worth learning a few jamming skills to widen route choice though.

Though one could hardly recommend Red Rocks in August.

August is main vacation in US. Washinton eastern Cascades via Vancouver and Squamish. Alpine, multi pitch VS, good weather east of Cascades, and not too busy. Tuolumne in August is a zoo, if you can find a campsite.

Another option is the Wind Rivers. The beautiful Cirque of the Towers is the most popular area. A bit of a walk in but some great moderate stuff including Pingora and the Wolf's Head traverse which is unbelievably good at the grade (or probably any grade).
