Time to replace my 5.10 Guide tennies, which have always been brilliant.

However, I see now there is a higher version, called the Mid.

And when I looked further I see there is now a Guide Tennie Mid GTX, - which is waterproof!

Is anyone able to comment on the relative merits of each?
Do the mid and/or GTX compromise the climbing suitability?

Or dare I dream that the GTX is just as good as my old tennies for climbing in?

In reply to Fredt:

The new tennies aren't a patch on the old ones for climbing, they're stiffer and clumpier so don;t expect the new ones to match the old.

The new ones are just not as good, comfortable, to climb with as the old ones. Toe box is now different. I wonder if there is an good alternative with just a little wider toe box but not as stiff as the new Tennies.
