Looking to purchase my first single rope.
60m for both indoor walls and outdoor sports routes on limestone. Not so worried about dry treatment unless I use it in the Alps for glacier travel.
Found two great discounts via Go Outdoors and wondering about comparisons between the two. As you can see, price difference in negligible so interested more in which will last longer, handle better etc.

a) Mammut Galaxy Classic (10mm) - very familiar with this rope and love it to bits.

b) Edelrid Perfect Sport (9.8mm)

...any other offers on the radar?

I've used both fairly regularly over the last few years; I'd pick the Edelrid if I was going for one of the two - they seem to hold up to more abuse. Are you sure you want 60m though - looking at your logbook you might want to consider something that can cope with the longer routes at Tintern and elsewhere?

Are you aware that those ropes are in quite limited stock? It might not be available in your local GO store.

As mentioned both of those are collect only and depend on your local store's stock. For a bit extra cash there's an Edelrid Freedom on Amazon at £74.99

Or a Mammut Evolution at £71

In reply to Alex_RhodesUK: I'd go for the Edelrid. They are nicer to handle and appear to wear better. (Comparing the Edelrid I had and the Mammut of a friend, both bought at approx. the same time, mine had considerably more use, both outdoors and in and still lasted longer before it started to develop flat spots and fat bits, than the Mammut did!)

Did you get the rope?
Make sure you use the 15 % off code that they have just now. That gives a 60m rope for £55.
Absolutely bonkers. Bought one yesterday even though I don't need one.
