How many bikes? Flat against the wall, end on, or up on the ceiling? End on is easiest, any number of front wheel hooks available

For upright on the wall I have been using Clugs (road, cx and MTB) and they are cheap and small and have been perfect. Currently the bikes all slot neatly into an alcove beside the fireplace

Wiggle etc all sell it

Artivelo do a really nice wall mount but it is pricey and I ordered mine from Holland. Not as useful in the new house hence the move to Clugs

We've got a row of these in the garage;

Very cheap and simple!

I'm waiting for somebody to ask whether it will harm their bike to be hung up by the front wheel.

(Answer: no; a bike designed to carry a 100 kg person isn't going to pull itself apart under its own 9 kg weight.)

Have a couple of these and they are excellent, if a little pricey!
perfect for carbon frames/wheels as they don't touch the frame or wheels.

I did a google on "Wiggle Clugs" and the first hit was a lapdancing bar in Bournemouth - take care if at work !

I've got similar hooks to those linked by Dave (albeit from Evans at twice the price). It's a good idea to offset the height of them so the handlebars don't get tangled with each other. The only problem I've had is that the plastic coating gets damaged by the spokes. Fortunately I have a substantial supply of old inner tubes - just one of so many uses for them.

thanks. will have a look at all of those links! 2 - 3 bikes, flat against the wall ideally

I've got 4 of the 'mottez' bike storage hooks on my garage wall. Simple effective and very cheap. £ 2.99 each from Halfords!

I confess I have always wondered about that! (well, damaging the wheel at least) The load distribution is quite different in the two set ups so perhaps it's not totally daft to question it. (he said hopefully)

Looking down the thread this isn't the answer to what you're looking for !

But if anyone's looking for a smart solution for flat to the wall storage of their road bike indoors then I recommend checking out a Cycloc.
Far from the cheapest but effective and looks great.

Cheers
Mark
