Crag near Stainland

Many years ago when I had just started climbing, a friend took me climbing on a little crag between Stainland and Barkisland, south of Halifax. I remember doing a route with him which I think was graded about a VS. Does anyone have any info regarding this crag.

West Vale (Greetland Quarry)

It's more bouldering than routes now though.

Thanks for the reply, but its not Greetland quarry. The memory not as good as it could be but I think it was a natural edge.
When I find my old OS map of Hud then can give you a grid reference.

It's not Stainland Quarry. The grid ref is on sheet 102 - 068195. Hope that helps.

I must own up I gave you the wrong map sheet number and the wrong grid reference, I was looking at a very old map.
The OS map number is 110 and the grid ref is 195 069.

Hi Simon, the crag is in a wood as far as I remember. Are you using the corrected sheet number and grid reference.

Hello Simon, I have had a bit of a senior moment, I got the grid reference wrong it should be 069195. Sorry about the cockup.

Have not checked the grid ref but could it be West Vale. Up past the Star pub?

Hi Andrew, it's not West Vale, I don't think this crag is in the guide book. The crag is between Barkisland and Stainland very close to Bottomley.

Hi Simon, you are right, but I was looking on an old map which was 102 and should have been 110.
