Climbing Shoe Allergy

So it seems I really am allergic to my Scarpa shoes - after climbing in my Red Chilies with no issues, I went back to my Scarpas. One evening of climbing and I had red irritated stripes down the sides of each heel, following the line of the rubber. So I'm guessing it's either the glue that's the problem, or the rubber itself.

So, time to buy new shoes (my Red Chilies are already on borrowed time!)

The obvious choice would be to buy some more Red Chillies, but the ones I've tried on in recent years don't seem to fit too well. So I'm looking widen my options (but staying away from Scarpa, alas).

Does anyone one have any knowledge on what brands are possibly more considerate of allergies, so my delicate tooties don't suffer?

Thanks

How odd. I wonder if it is the glue, or maybe there's a pressure hot-spot type thing going on.

In proper UKC style I'm going to ignore your question (have nothing to offer there anyway, soz) and ask you one instead: Have you tried wearing socks? Not great big red woolly ones necessarily, just thin running socks.

Because clearly nobody could ever climb at a respectable standard in those ...
