Hi,

Heading to Mallorca next week. Will be based in Port de Soller. Would like to try and get on a 7a if I get chance. I like cracks, slabs & corners. Generally rubbish on anything steep that requires strong arms.

Has anyone got any recommendations? Also, any must do easier classics in the area?

Cheers,

Penyal d'es Grau would be a good option and not too far from Port de Soller. There is the long, fairly slabby Voltor Negre (7a+) which I thought was probably low in the grade, no stopper moves just very continuous.

There are also some excellent easier routes there, and not too steep either.

S'estret also has some quality technical slab/wall climbs at sector Xurasco, with La Viagra del Abuélo (7a) and Burandanga 6c. Octopussy (7a) is one of the Top 50 in the new Rockfax Mallorca guide but unfortunately a bit steep and pumpy near the top if you prefer slabs!

Thanks for the suggestions, made a note of them to check out next week. Buf sounds like it'll be a fun one to play on. That is, if I don't get shutdown on the 6s.

Cheers,
