I'm going to be in Montserrat for a day on easter Monday and hoping to do a multi-pitch climb. It's my first time going so does anyone have any recommendations? Looking for something fairly easy around 6a. Ideally no trad gear needed. And will we need twin ropes?

Something in Gorros, or perhaps e.g. Aresta Ribas (6a) on the South Face, depending on the weather (Gorros is colder).

Most routes you'll get away with a 40m single.

Thanks for the tip. A 40m single? There are walk-offs? I was looking at Badalona and it seems like I would need a couple of 50m's to be able to rap back down.

La Momieta - can't remember the grade off the top of my head, but I think it's four pitches, certainly nothing higher than 6a, and probably easier. And a pretty straightforward abseil off the top, as long as the wasp nest isn't there any more (it was about five years ago now). Take some sandwiches to have a quick snack in the cave at the half way point.

All bolted. No trad gear needed. A top way to spend a few hours.

Situation's different for different peaks. There are scrambles or walk offs from some, and you can certainly ab down the back left side of Gorro Frigi with a 60m single. Certainly if you're trying to travel light there are options.

Do you remember if it might be possible to rappel with a single 60m? Looks like there may be 4 sets of bolts on the way down to the left.
