Pex Hill: Area for Beginners and Groups
The so-called Easy Area at Pex Hill (at the back of the quarry facing the entrance) which had become badly overgrown has recently been cleaned up. This is traditionally a place for beginners to learn to climb & abseil. There are also traverses and problems for the more experienced (it doesn’t seem so easy when you are contemplating a Pex 6a move 10 feet off the deck!). This area is suitable for school parties and organised groups. There are a number of trees and a stake if you don’t want to belay on the fence. If you use this area a lot could we ask you to help with keeping the brambles/gorse in check?
