I have a "Bike Hand" that does the job verr well - nice and sturdy but no tool tray (I see they've added one now):

If your bike is carbon, don't clamp the tubes.... get an ally seatpost for a few quid and clamp that

Lidl have theirs in at the moment for £24, you can't really go wrong.

I've got one of those as well. Sturdy and folds away tidily.

May have been a few days ago, there were 5 or 6 left in my local one today.

You can't go wrong with Park Tools offering

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Park-Tool-PCS-9-Mechanic-Repair/dp/B000OZFJTI

though it is more expensive than Lidl.

You can add a tray and other bits to it.

Use it for road and mountain bike as well as grandchildren's bikes. Excellent.

Doesn't work so well if your bike has an aero seat post, but the clamp ones are probably the easiest to use.

I have a Topeak Prepstand Race, which is like a roof bar carrier: http://www.topeak.com/products/Repair-Stands/prepstandrace

Acquired virtually brand new for about £50 from a well-known auction site

Hi Folks

Thanks for all the replies.

I went for a bike hut stand from halfords in the end, discounted to £35. Could not find the lidl one local to me.

It gets good reviews and i found it easy to use and very sturdy today whist bleeding the brakes on my mtb this pm.

Cheers Davey

If they're anything like the Aldi ones they'll be fine. I've had my Aldi one for a couple of years now with no complaints. I'm even happy carefully clamping my Ribble carbon frame to it.
In reply to Lord of Starkness:

For those who are interested Aldi will have there bike stands and other cycling stuff available again from this weekend both in store and online.
