I am heading up to NW Yorkshire (staying near to Kirkby Lonsdale) this weekend, and the weather forecast doesn't look that great. Are there any particular crags or routes in the area which are a good option in wet weather? Anything from a scramble up to about HVSish. It would just be nice to get out on some routes rather than being limited to wet rambling!

Cheers for any info.

Not sure how quickly Hutton Roof or Trowdale would dry but they're both polished limestone so not great in the wet..

We have found the rather esoteric Moughton Nab dries really well and has a range of good short routes, had 2 great days there when it seemed unlikely we would get any climbing done.

Giggleswick has lots of bolted and trad routes of all grades. Sheltered quick drying suntrap.

If you're staying by KL then Hutton Roof is very close - it's open to any wind blowing so take a coat. Mostly soloing or highball stuff. Farleton will probably be too cold/damp. Just across the M6 are all the Silverdale crags which are mostly sheltered and close to the roads so no big time loss if damp. I've seen folk on Trowbarrow earlier this year so it's OK if not blowing a gale. Crag Foot is right beside the road and gets sunshine. Warton Upper and Pinnacle Crags are all good options too. They were both bone dry a few days ago and dry almost instantly after rain.
You're also not too far from Twisleton which has lots of quick-drying routes.

I'm just next to Kirkby. If you want trad get yourself to trowbarrow quarry it's limestone lancs 20 min from kirkby very quick drying do Jean Jeanne vs 3 star and assagai hvs 3 star if it's raining do some top roping on redwall ever dry gym. Till you get a dry spell if you want some sport routes plenty 20 min away get yourself to proctors scar for low grade quality routes they also dry very quick.
