Just read fell top assessors report for yesterday. You will always get people on the ridges not properly equipped, but dogs chasing sheep in lambing season is pretty horrendous.

Keep an eye out in Spring for this folks, I'm sure people would rather have a friendly reminder than have their dog shot by an angry farmer for worrying their sheep!

Your post makes no sense in relation to the title without some sort of link.

What has a weather forecast got to do with sheep chasing dogs?

Perhaps because if it's a good forecast then there will be more people out with dogs that may fall through a cornice chasing sheep? I'm intrigued too. At least I discovered that Molly the cockatoo had been found due to a twitter link on the thread. This made me apologise to leon1 for calling him an insensitive tird.
So, the threads a good un

Cockatoos have been savaging sheep as well? That's disgraceful.

This is the fell top assessors quote from the I love the Lakes facebook page.

A frustrating day on Helvellyn today.Too many people dicing with death on the steep snow slopes at the top of Swirral Edge and Striding Edge - how will these people stop a slide without an ice axe, and let's be honest, a slide is very likely given that these people are not wearing crampons either? One family were stuck just below the top on Swirral Edge today, so I cut a line of steps for them to get to the plateau. They told me they were heading for Glenridding, and promptly walked off in the direction of Thirlmere. I reined them in, and pointed them down the Keppel Cove zigzags, only to find them letting their dog chase sheep on the way down. Not a great day on the fells all told. Thanks for clearing that up. Pictures on the FB link. Remarkably snowy and poor weather. Springlike in the valley?

It's not just the dogs that should be shot- anyone who lets their dog chase sheep should be shot too
