Anyone been up recently? Is there still a lot of snow. Heading to Chamonix later this week. Also packed skis if anyone thinks it worth taking them up instead?

Just came back yesterday. Snow line down to 2500m and the hut isn't open, there is the orginal hut which is free and open with some bunks. We met numerous teams of people turning around. We got just shy of 3000m and the snow was waist deep. Everyone we met hadn't made the summit. Hope this helps. Good lucky

Thanks for that, I'll keep an eye on things. Sounds like avalanche risk will be high. Might have more luck with skis in Cham!
