Heading up later this week for a few days and looking for an alternative to the site opposite the Vaynol for a change. Lumpy field with long grass, crap showers and BYO bog roll.

Hoping to get to Cloggy and Gogarth this trip so pretty flexible about where.

Anyone recommend a good campsite. Flat, decent showers, not too pricy, quietish, pub nearby?

It might be a bit out of your way, but the Outdoor Alternative campsite at Rhoscolyn is great. Meets all of the requirements, and it's two minutes from a beach. Pub is 15 mins walk, but it's a really nice pub.

Similarly, I stayed at blackthorn farm on angelsey recently and was impressed.

The White...Something in Rhoscolyn is nice but pricey. Holyhead and trearddur however are where pubs go to die

Blackthorn farm is £11 pp so priced me out. I still have in my head 2002 prices from when I started climbing. £3 was about right!

Might try this place. Behind the hospital, on mainland side of Menai Bridge. Choice of 1 pub.

I agree. Outdoor Alternative is the best site on Anglesea
