Has anyone bouldered in the Rhineland Pfalz, Germany? I've looked at it online, best place to head for appears to be the Barenbrunnerhof (climbers' cafe, shop, camping, etc), and I intend to get the local guidebook, but can anyone point me towards the best bouldering areas? There are lots of trad routes but I'll be climbing alone so, bouldering it is. I'll be working in Freiburg (about an hour and a half further south). Any first-hand information appreciated.

I would not go north for bouldering, but west. IIRC, the best boulder area close to Freiburg is near a place called Gueberschwihr near Colmar, but I have been there last maybe 25 years ago. there are two area, noveau and vieux G., one has more routes and the other more boulders.

Thank you, I've just had a quick look, this is great, and as you say, much closer. I think I was last in Colmar some 35 years ago on a school trip!
