Hi,
Does anyone know if you need specific climbing permits for Cordillera Blanca in Peru? We are planning on going in July next year with the aim of Quitaraju & Alpamayo.

Thanks

In reply to Drew52:

You only need a park pass. It is about 70 soles for 21 days. There are no specific peak fees. You can get them from the Casa de Guias in Huaraz. They also sell maps and operate the local rescue service. There are gear shops in the area. I usually stay at Olaza's B&B. Cafe Andino is a good source of current climbing information and great food. Both the West Ridge and North Face (take lots of cheap local pickets) of Quitaraju are good routes. particularly the former.
