Heading to the Costa Blanca for a long weekend at the end of October and was wondering if anyone had any rcommendations for places to stay? Just the two of us (me and boyfriend), and after reasonably cheap places (but a private room). Tried the Orange House already.
This place was good and clean and cheap. Just uphill fromOrange House.Casa Figueretes

Be a tourist, just see what is available to rent, loads of owners direct type websites. We had a very nice villa owned by ex-pats happy to get in a few quid out of season. No bills for the heating (and yes you might need it at night) there was sky tv at no cost, pool with no-one else using it, priceless, well almost!
Sounds like a good idea. Seems to be plenty of places available around Calpe. Slightly complicated by me being in Morocco two weeks before (it's a hard life...) but sure we could get something a week before anyway!
In reply to Fantastical: If you don't want to try the Orange House again, then just go on AirBnB and search round. It's the cheapest way to get accommodation.
If you fancy something up in the hills. Abdet. com is brilliant. Not far from guadalest and some local crags that are good. Tom who runs it is great and can't do enough.
We stayed here for a week http://www.caisaitoni.com. Sella is a lovely little village, close to a great crag. Toni is a lovely owner, very helpful. The apartments are studio rooms with kitchenettes, and amazing views to the east.
